Amazing Quilt Shop in the Door!

Kate is the owner of Barn Door Quilts in Sturgeon Bay, WI. I always have so much fun connecting with her when I visit and inspires me to try new things!

Sometime in early 2021 a brand new shop owner of an existing quilt shop in Door County happened! As it turns out, when I visit Door County, this is the shop I always have to stop at first! Kate is truly the magic behind this amazing quilt shop called Barn Door Quilts.

The shop is filled with on trend quilting fabric from Moda, Riley Blake and other designers. This is the kind of quilt shop that if you’re looking for a hard time find pattern from a quilt designer or color way, more than likely it will be at this shop! There is a fairly new pattern from Moda called Slow Stroll. Super amazing colors and very popular right now. No other shop in Wisconsin has the particular yardage from that design, but Kate had it in stock! She has the entire line and the pre-cuts. Amazing!

She offers an amazing Fat Quarter deal and will make them, if they are not present on the shelves. This last visit, I was so impressed with all the pre-made quilt projects that were for sale. Many visitors that come to Door County don’t have interests in sewing, but would be interested in buying hand made quilts and quilted accessories. It’s so cool! Not an inch of space here that isn’t’ inspiring to want to create. She will be offering classes starting in 2023 and I can’t wait to come up and participate.
