The woes and wonder of making quilt binding
There isn’t a task when quilting that’s more stressful to me than binding. Lol. Some people really love it and it’s their jam. For me, it’s a circus of success or challenges. I always feel confident going into the process, but I put it off and usually feel like I’m upside down when making binding. Anyone else share those woes? Please leave a comment below.
The final steps of making a quilted table runner for mom. Drove to Lodi, WI just to get the perfect Cory Yoder fabric from Moda to get a perfect coordination of color and pattern. It’s now time to bind the quilt! My machine is awesome, but I have had challenge after challenge with sewing on the binding. If I still had a Pfaff with dual feed, it would go on with no issues. But I’m certainly sure this is user error and lack of experience with my Bernina machine. It’s the best machine I’ve owned since my Pfaff. But for Binding, I’m still searching for that one hit wonder technique!
This is why the quilt project I completed 2 months ago sits in my sewing area waiting to be bound. Lol. That time has arrived. Wish me the best. The bias binding turned out good! So there is that.
More time come
