Look who moved!
One of my most favorite quilt shops in Wisconsin is Barn Door Quilts. I’m so very excited to have seen Kate’s new space after Mom and I took a trip to Door County this Spring. Still located in the lovey shopping district of downtown Sturgeon Bay, Barn Door Quilts moved to a new space right next door to the original location this past April.
Kate has one of the best selection of Moda fabrics, batiks and other wonderful designers. The collections she chooses are not the same ones that every other quilt shop has. I find that her selection appeals to a more diverse audience, which is what we need quilt shops to be. She also has lot’s of pre-cuts and cut’s her on 1/2 Jelly Rolls. There are so many projects where a 1/2 of a Jelly Roll is all you need. There are plenty of quilt kits that she puts together her self and also sells pre-made quilts to the shoppers that pass by and have no desire to quilt their own. The new location has beautiful red brick walls that make the space feel cozy and yet spacious. So much more space and a place where creative inspiration starts. Check out this seating area at the front of the store below.
Please, if you are passing through Door County, WI or even taking a trip to Green Bay, Sturgeon Bay is just another 40 miles north. Barn Door Quilts is such a charming space with energy that you will love. If you aren’t going to be in the area, please show some love for Kate’s amazing new space and shop her website! If you love cherry themes, you will find all sorts of unique fabric and notion themed after the beloved berry from Door County. Thanks so much for stopping by! Please leave a comment below about your favorite quilt shop and why. If you aren’t into quilting, have you been to Door County? If so, what’s your favorite place to visit?
